Architects draw for the purpose of planning. Each line of a plan is intentional in its length, direction, meaning, and visual hierarchy. The images shown here are distinct from those of planned buildings: they are isometric pen drawings of 3-dimensional structures produced only using algorithms guided by five variables and a formal intent: points, density height, curve length, and attractive/repulsive forces and their magnitudes. Much like a plant, a seed in the form of an algorithm is given to a 3D environment and a building grows. These structures are natured, not nurtured. Each drawing is CNC routed on 11"x14" Bristol Paper with a 20mm Rapidiograph pen and blue iroshizuku inks.
